The biggest knocks against Java have always been performance (loading the JVM takes ages it seems) and its ugly UIs. Why these issues have not been tackled properly years ago is way beyond my intellect, but IBM is finally stepping up and taking charge.

C once again proves its durability and usefulness as a language that speed freaks enjoy.
