Interesting discussion detailing the future potential concerning Windows new technology Avalon. Can’t say I personally know too much about the technology, but a lot of interesting ideas of been sprouting up concerning Longhorn. I freely admit that it is a Windows release that I am anxiously awaiting due to all the hype it has built up.

Chris Anderson discusses why people should focus on WinForms and not whether or not Avalon will be available tomorrow or the next 8 years.

The idea that people should adopt WinForms because Avalon is 8 years out is just ridiculous. People should adopt WinForms because it is a great development platform for creating smart client applications. People should adopt WinForms because it puts them in a great position for transitioning to Avalon when they choose to.
