I love reading articles about Supercomputers based on clustered technology. It always gives me the idea that I can just bulid them in my garage without any worries. Then I wonder what would I really use it for? Then I wonder does it really matter? They are just so cool to have. Here are some details.

The E2 cluster consists of 556 Intel (Nasdaq: INTC) Xeon 3.06-GHz processors and will include cluster-management tools from Linux Networx, Clusterworx and ICE Box, providing cluster management from just one interface.

I do have to question though why people are sticking with the Xeons when I would think Opterons offer a better price/performance ratio.
