This is another fan-sub that I came across not too long ago and it is turning out to be such a great Anime series that I can only hope that it finds its way onto DVD. The story follows two alchemists brothers in search of the Philosopher’s Stone to help rebuild their bodies (no spoiler here man!).
The series is full of every emotion. Haven’t been this sad over certain episodes in a long time. Like Bambi watching mom die long time. In any case I highly recommend you check it out. It’s free.

Hah! I laugh at the death of puny Bambi deer-mom!
heh. I saw a bumper sticker today…
“Watership Down: You’ve read the Book. You’ve watched the Movie. Now, eat the Stew.”
How in the hell did you read that whole bumper sticker?
it was for sale on a website. :-)
Yes FMA is an excellent anime series. You may be interested in Naruto as well.
Links or are you going to force me to use Google?
Ah just go to http://animesuki.com/series.php and look for the Naruto series. That’s a good tracker for unlicensed anime series, if you don’t know it yet.
FMA has been licensed by Funimation:

:-(
I can’t believe FMA was licensed, I pray to god that someone is still fansubbing it even though its been licensed.Funimation is going to butcher it like every other anime like Yu Yu Hakusho, dammit I hate Funimation.
Well I have heard that some group is still going to fansub it anonymously and when I find out I will make sure to post it here.
PLeeeeas hurry and find out. my heart canŽt take all this waiting. i must se FMA! I have already almost died once (when FMA was licensed) so please find it (myself i canŽt find it) before itŽs too late…..
Excuse my english
i was wondering in what way the license will affect FMA. Won’t it just be subbed by funimation and sold on DVD? or will they dub and rape the whole series?
What it means is that even though the series will be released on DVD it will take some time for it to happen and it will only be released in spurts. With the fansubs we were getting a new episode every week.
Hopefully, Funimation is sensible enough to include the subbed versions as the japanese voice acting is really superb and I fail to see how English actors would be able to give the series the same power and emotion.
I found another place that continued the fansubs but it seems that BitTorrent has placed a filter on it preventing any downloads. My search will continue as this is truly the best series that I have come across this year.
Also I suggest looking up on IRC (tho i never learned how to :( ) Direct Connect ++ , or if ur truly desperate, WINMX.
meissama could you maybe share how to get the sonchou’s site? because, well, that aoi doesnt really work… i tried kazaalite, and as a matter of fact it works. i’m getting 25 kb/s but the newest ep is nowhere to be found… scrivs your searching is highly appreciated so keep it up
Sadly, I don’t think they have a site, I’ve looked for it. -_-;;
I heard episode 33 of FMA is out I’m so happy that I don’t have to buy crappy funimation dvd’s of it.But 33 hasn’t been trasnlated yet.
The best thing to do to get anime is fansubb the U.S. distributors of anime expect people to waste their money and the people on animesuki are punk b#$@@#s since their afraid to fansubb just because anime gets liscensed, their not true fansubbers. And if Naruto were ever liscened I would go crazy, well i’m glad Fma is still being fansubbed by true fansubbers.
“True fansubbers” have always pulled titles as they are licensed. This goes back to the days of distrubution on VHS tapes through the mail. Their logic was, anime was not as big as it is now, and a series getting licensed was a big deal. The companies licensing them were generally small, and supporting them by buying commercially released tapes would help ensure anime continued to be released. Now with DVD and high speed internet, and anime getting more “mainstream” recognition, things are a little more complicated.
Granted, there is an annoying lay over period between when a series is licensed and when it gets released on DVD. I don’t really care at this point, I’m poor. I buy what DVDs I really like and can afford. Anyway, the links for the Sonchou torrents don’t seem to work from baka’s page.
As for Funimation. Since FMA will be aired on Cartoon Network, its anyone’s guess if they’ll crappify it or not. It would be really stupid on their part to do that, though. Who can say?
Sadly we all know it will be crappy. Out of all the dubs I think I’ve heard 2 or 3 decent ones. Most ADV, Funimation is jus… well crap. Oh so everyone knows. That link up above. Full Metal Alchemist 33 is on there by Sonchou and its awesome :)
