And dialing 911, I want a connection even if I have a bad wifi signal or the network is hosed or the provider&#039;s cat bit through their OC3 or (a recent occurance here, actually) lightning struck the upstream provider&#039;s wifi tower and blew out some equipment.

That&#039;s not to say the WRT54G with hacked firmware isn&#039;t damned cool... just that vonage and other VOIP providers need alot of work before we can nix the landlines entirely. Heck, just having the VOIP phones be able to tap into the local cellular phone networks for 911 calls only would be a huge improvement.</description>
