Somewhat recently, Google, Inc. (or rather the people behind Google) opened their own weblog. This was moderately exciting, since, like most of my kind, I take Google to be god’s gift to geekdom.
One of the posts that I just noticed, was by Dennis Hwang, the creator of many of the custom google logos, and also their international webmaster. In it he links to the holiday logo archive, and takes pride in the fact that “that [Google is] the kind of company that, when a user writes in to suggest that [they] honor the once-every-122-years Transit of Venus on our home page, [they] actually do it!”
The end of the article contains an e-mail address (doodle@google.com), to which suggestions for logo occaisions ought to be sent. I e-mailed requesting the honoring of Dr. Suess and Jim Henson, as well as Casimir Pulaski Day and Guy Fawkes Day. You should all e-mail Dennis with your suggestions (and also share them here via comments.
