1Well, looks like there is no Santa after all. I guess I had lost my belief that apple was a “good” corporation back when I found out about the Sherlock/Watson thing. Apple is not nice to its third party developers; but, well, they could still club a few hundred baby seals, and I think I’d rate them as “nicer” than Microsoft.
It would be nice, though if Apple could bring the third party developers into the fold rather than steal from them.

2Sherlock 3 existed in development long before Watson was released (or begun, as best as i can tell).
“Apple is not nice to its third-party developers” is a rather oblique statement, with little actual fact behind it.

3The whole uproar over Konfabulator being ripped off is foolish. Apple had the same thing developed for System 1 in 1981. If anyone ripped any one off, in terms of an idea, it was Rose and Konfabulator. Andy Hertzfeld is the one who should be credited with the idea. A great (in depth) analysis at Daring Fireball: http://daringfireball.net/2004/06/dashboard_vs_konfabulator.
You can read all about the original at Andy’s site: http://www.folklore.org/ . Do a search for Desk Ornaments.
