Alright, if you haven’t heard about this already then you might want to skip down to the resources section that I provided below. Anyways, it seems that many people have tried this website and received their free iPods. Being young and dumb and willing to take risks I decided to jump on the bandwagon and see what all the fuss is about. So far I have 3 referrals and only need 2 more to go so I will make sure to keep you updated on whether or not this works. I just didn’t see the harm in trying so I have posted my link and we shall look at it Read more »

Console Emulation Station
Yayhooray member Vitaflo (of Assembler.org fame) has created the ultimate emulation station. It uses an old Mac G4, and a Playstation controller with a USB adapter for the hardware. Then he built his own custom front-end launching utility using Firefox in kiosk mode, and simple dHTML. That along with a series of OS hacks has created a beautiful setup that lets you play over 5,000 games from 15 different systems using 1 computer, and 1 controller. You switch games and control the entire system from the PSX controller. When in the launching GUI, use the shoulder buttons to switch between the systems, then the D-Pad to pick a game and Read more »
CS Isn't Just For Boys
When I played it, Counter-Strike was loads of fun, but I always hated how poor I was at it and the thought of some 12 year-old pre-pubescent kid out there somewhere in the world knifing me while I fumbled with reloading my MP5. Frustrating to say the least and without the lack of responsibility of being a teenager (and the subsequent unending time to hone one’s skills), my interest slowly waned. Well, it was interesting to come across this site and realize that there are actually girls that play Counter-Strike, some of whom are quite good, enough to be playing at the World Cup level. Of course, what was even Read more »
How to Buy a TV
In the past 50 years, there haven’t been many features to pick from, and once optional things like UHF tuners, remote controls, color, stereo and cable channel tuning have all become standard. The main constant over the years was a choice of picture size. Now, there are SIX different decisions to make and the choices within decisions keep changing. This confounds even the experts. So don’t feel alone in your quest! Some good advice and tips if you are in the market for a TV. My advice, get them while they are free. Read more »
Bone-Devouring Worms Discovered
Two worm species discovered in the dark recesses of the deep sea could rival the macabre beasts of your childhood nightmares. Scientists have named a new genus, Osedax, which is Latin for “bone devourer”, for worms that thrive by excavating the bones of fallen whale carcasses. Bone sucking worms. I have to say that again because it makes me smile. Bone. Sucking. Worms. I could make a joke about how these remind me of my last girlfriend, but I will just leave that alone. It’s Friday so let’s all be happy. Especially since these Bone Sucking Worms only live in the deep parts of the ocean. But the worms were Read more »
Daily Dinosaur Comics
Sometimes, you just really need to read a comic about dinosaurs stomping on things. That’s where Qwantz comes into play. See, pretty much every day, you can check Qwantz and find a new comic about Dinosaurs crushing things. To be fair, its the same dinosaurs every day, crushing the same things; but somehow it remains fresh and interesting. Seriously. Sometimes the humor is intellectual. Other times, it teaches us moral lessons. But, you might want to just start from the beginning. Read more »
Batman Begins Trailer
This will be the best Batman film ever. You read it here first. If you are using Firefox you might have to enable popups for that site so you can actually watch the trailer. I would post a screenshot, but I can’t view video from the web today for some reason, which is the #1 reason why all trailers should be downloadable. Read more »
Gitaroo Man: A Rhythm Action Game
Gitaroo Man might just be the most insane game I’ve ever played. In this Playstation 2 rhythm action game you are U-1, a loser school boy with an annoying dog. But, low and behold, you can turn into a Gitaroo Man, which means that you get a magical guitar and costume change, and fight villains/win a lady’s heart/become the ultimate gitaroo man. The game has a unique spin on the rhythm action genre, graphics reminiscent of, but far superior to, Parappa’s, and fun animations in the background to distract you from doing well. The music is good, and the gameplay is straightforward, but challenging. Read more »
The New New Nintendo DS
When Nintendo finally showed the Nintendo DS there were some rave reviews going around detailing how spectacular it was. Then Sony showed its new PSP and made the DS look like a plastic kids toy. In retaliation, Nintendo has redesigned the DS to make it look just a little bit more cooler. Now it looks more like a case for your sunglasses, but it is definitely an upgrade from what they had before. The DS now sports a thinner, black base and angular platinum flip-top cover, with larger face and shoulder buttons than the E3 unit, some of which have been “reconfigured for optimum use”. The unit also gains a Read more »
OneNote 2003 SP1 Power Toys
Hot on the heals of the release of OneNote SP1, two new utilities taking advantage of OneNote’s new object model have been released. These utilities allow you to easily copy text from either IE or Outlook into new OneNote notes. Currently, I’m using Outlook 2003′s flag ability to keep track of mail that I need to respond to, or news items that I’d like to post (I use NewsGator as my news aggregator, which pulls feed items directly into Outlook). Now, however, I’m thinking about using OneNote to keep track of those items – just use the Outlook to OneNote plugin, and I can easily get those interesting posts stored Read more »
