You can also go balls-to-the-wall and store your entire home directory in CVS or something like that, and set up a cron script to commit it every 5 minutes.  It all depends on how valuable the data you&#039;re trying to save is.</description>

That way, if you accidentally hit enter in the middle, you&#039;re much less likely to wipe out a huge chunk of work.  You can also &#039;alias rm=&quot;rm -i&quot;&#039; to be extra-careful.</description>

		<description>You should also consider something like this http://www.rsnapshot.org/ . Snapshots are even better then retreiving deleted files because you can retain versions of modified files.</description>
