From time to time, I find that I need to install packages that are not included with the distribution I’m running. Normally, this is not a problem if you have a fast Internet access, but sometimes you may be in a situation where you have no Internet access at all. Here’s how to cope with that situation by creating a CD for use by APT-RPM.

If you have been using Debian or the recent RedHat incarnations you know how awesome apt is. Really it is what separates those distributions from the rest and make updating systems and installing new software painless. In fact, it can become so fun that you will go out and look for new software just so you can apt-get it. In any case, for those that are in the unfortunate situation of having no Internet access (which begs the question how are you reading this?) then this article shows you how to do things with a CD.
