You have to respect a site called Linux.com that can post an article on the imperfections of using Linux for home use. Of course this might only want to make you try it out even more. I would like to know though why Roger selected Mandrake 10 as his choice of install.
In any case it makes for a good read because it is highly objective and is not written by a super geek is able to compile the source to every program and get everything working seamlessly within his desktop.
I am glad to see he got most of what he wanted and I am sure the performance is pretty nice on a machine with his specs.

1L.c has always put out some decent commentary, IMHO. Back before VA reshuffled, I knew around 1/3 of their writing staff, and articles like these were what they sought to bring to the public.
