If you have an XBOX and were planning on buying Madden over ESPN then you should definitely read this entry by the great Bill Harris. This guy knows his shit so he is definitely to be trusted.
I seriously questioned whether Madden could top what I’d seen of ESPN this year, but I had absolutely no idea it would be such an ass-kicking. If you’ve got a Madden pre-order in for the Xbox version, and you haven’t bought ESPN, you are both buying the wrong game and spending $30 extra for the privilege.
Wow.
I played ESPN on my brother’s PS2 and was floored by how awesome the game was. Last time I played a Sega Football games was NFL 2k on the greatest console ever, Dreamcast. Damn, I need to go buy me a Dreamcast. Anyone know where I can pick one up?

2I bought ESPN 2k5 a few weeks ago and I’m pissed at all the bugs. To even be able to play a whole season you have to download patches and I refuse to bother with all it would entail to get online.
I managed to pick up a copy of Madden 2005 a few days early and so far I’m loving it. It’s a lot harder to run the ball but you eventually get the hang of it.

3Yeah I hear some people having complaints with the bugs. We didn’t experience any and therefore we love the game.
As usual, your mileage may vary.
