I am not ashamed to admit I buy a lot of my computer technology from Wal-Mart. Most of the time I need the stuff at 2am and Wal-Mart is the only place open and they sell name brand items so it’s not like I am doing myself any disservice. I do wish they sold higher-end video cards though.
But anyways, one of the things that has impressed me is the computers that they sell. They sell whole machines that are of quality at a very decent price and now they are getting in the laptop market. Do you know how many people would buy a laptop that is under $600? A lot.
All around the specs are extremely solid with the exception of the memory (a measly 128mb). But it has wireless and this alone will make the general consumers go nuts. The machines are rebadged ECS machines (never heard of them). Here are the specs:
- 14.1-inch display
- AMD Athlon XP 1600+
- 128MB RAM
- 40GB hard drive
- DVD-drive
- Wi-Fi 802.11b
- Windows XP Home Edition

I bought this notebook. For office purpose it is ok. I do my mail and internet stuff with it. And I can carry the notebook to my customers, since it is not that big. I can recommend this notebook.
