The official news has been announced since this was posted, and you can find it here.
WalMart has listed the Nintendo DS as available for pre-order for $199.82, with an expected ship date of November 30th. Nintendo has yet to make a formal announcement of the price or ship date for the Nintendo DS, but if the largest seller of video games in the world thinks it knows the date, there is probably a good chance that it is correct. That gives us all a little over 2 months to save up the $300 to buy one (System plus games and accessories). Get out your piggy banks!
GameStop.com and EBGames.com also have the Nintendo DS listed as $199.99, with a launch date of 11/29/04. Expect to see the DS showing up at other online retailers in the following weeks.
Expect to see at least a few of these games to launch with the Nintendo DS in late November.

1Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Mad Christmas rush. Good choice. Doubtful they will be able to meet the demand though. This will be a hot eBay item.

4I listed some of the third party games in development in my post, though I don’t know which will be launch titles. Also, that list doesn’t include Nintendo first-party titles, which will probably be the ones I buy first anyway.
Looks like Nintendo titles include Metroid, PictoChat, Mario 64×4, and WarioWare DS at the moment.
