Of course this is a rumor, but it was un-officially announced at the Tokyo Game Show. It seems that including an MP3 player and DVD player functionality caused the priced to be more than twice as much as Nintendo’s DS system. Many are speculating that this means Sony’s PSP will launch Dead On Arrival.
If Nintendo does follow through with rumors and include superb wireless functionality in their DS handheld then it could mean lights out for the PSP no matter what market Sony is aiming for.
It just seems as though Nintendo played its cards right and waited to see what Sony was offering before letting everything out of the bag and having a November launch date should only help the system.

1Ok the fact that it can play MP3s counts me out on every buying it. MP3 is a 10 year old technology. Long live Vorbis Ogg and FLAC!
