Over the past 30 years, video games have become an integral part of our culture, and the video game industry has become a multi-billion dollar behemoth. Follow the journey of video games from university laboratories to our living rooms.
PBS is running a show called The Video Game Revolution that chronicles the history of gaming, its impact on society, how games are made, etc. There is also a very nice and informative web site to accompany the show with lots of interviews with industry experts, games to play, quizzes to take, etc. One of the quizzes plays a sound clip from a classic game for you, and you have to guess which game it is from out of the three choices available. Others are more traditional quiz questions, like who always says “*#*&&@” when he gets hit? Everyone take a look at the site, and set your Tivo’s to record the show when it comes on. Looks like it will be something every gamer will want to check out.
