Skinning GMail with a Custom Stylesheet

Love GMail, but hate the look of it? Well do something about it and create your own stylesheet so that you can have a more enjoyable experience. That’s what Mihai over at Persistent.info shows us how to do.

The quick instructions include:

  • Install the URLid Mozilla/Firefox extension.
  • Download this CSS file.
  • Locate your profile folder and the chrome folder within that.
  • Copy the downloaded CSS file to the chrome folder and rename it to userContent.css (if you already have such a file, you will have to merge the two).
  • Restart Firefox.
  • Visit Gmail.

Good stuff.

Sorry about that. Go to the site and use his links instead. I will have to correct these tomorrow because I don’t have the css file on my server so therefore the link doesn’t work.

    Sorry about that John.

It’s nice, but I wish I new the classes for the compose mail box. I have it how I want, but that compose box is still blue.
