Surprise, Surprise. Gratis has released another new free thing… building on their wildly popular free ipod, free flatscreen offers, and so on, they’re now doing, yes, a free photo ipod or ipod photo or whatever… domain squatters got the proper name, so they called it the other way around I suppose. This one takes 10 signups… probably won’t have as many people finish as received their ipods or flatscreens, but should be interesting. Looks like the best offer at the moment is the 2 week trial for blockbuster’s netflix clone. I like that better than netflix, actually — same price, same number of movies, but they also give you a couple free brick and mortar blockbuster rentals a month for when you want something on the spur of the moment. Anyway, good luck!

1Depending on where you live though, you can still get more movies with Netflix because they have so many more distribution centers. There is one in my town (Chattanooga), so I get movies the next day. Whereas with Blockbuster the closest one is in Michigan, so the movies take 2 – 3 days to get here.

2true. But when I was with netflix, after the first couple of months, I only ended up watching 5-6 movies a month, tops, and rented several at the video store that weren’t on my list.
of course, since I’m in indiana 10 minutes south of the michigan state line and my nearest netflix center is in michigan, too… lol

3Well I rip all the movies and send them back the next day, so it works out pretty well for me. :)

4Just tried to sign up for the free color iPod but it looks like the Blockbuster offer has been taken down, when you click the link you are brought to a page that says it is no longer available and to choose another. Now the next best deal is for the NYTimes.
I figure that if word of this offers legitimacy continues to spread either they will run out of iPods or have plenty of new sponsors looking to sell their wares on the site. SO I will wait it out.

5you bad, bad person you.
One of these days I need to try doing that, just to try it.

6Hamster, I just looked… worked for me. Try it with plain vanilla internet explorer. I know I had problems with the freeflatscreens one when I was trying it in Firefox.
As for running out of ipods… they get them direct from apple, they don’t maintain a stockpile. When you receive yours, it’ll have shipped straight from apple or maybe a reseller like ecost.com
You can check ratetheoffers.com for a listing of offers they often have on the various gratis sites.

7Infone is a good one… it’s free and there is no time limit on it. Easy to cancel…
I just did Ancestry.com to sign up for the photo iPod, and it was easy too. You get credit immediately, and you can cancel with an email.
And JC, at least I’m paying $20 a month to rent them, rather than just downloading them from the ‘net for absolutely nothing. :)

8mmm photoipod… I wish I had a conga to join *looks down*
I put you up to third. Hukd is second because well, he is a personal friend and he helped to start the conga, and he signs up under me everytime. So, third is better than 4th right? :)

9well, Jay, I sorta fixed your comment, but I imagine you were trying to plug a URL in there somewhere and didn’t manage it… go ahead and post it, we’ll get a million of them anyway….

12Not sure why JC but I am having no luck with the Blockbuster offer. I took your advice (as I was in fact using Firefox) and tried using IE (using IE for anything pains me but I got past it). First I tried at home, no dice. In fact I couldn;t get any of the offers to come up on either the freephotoipods or freeipods site. So this morning when I came into work I fired up IE and hit the freephotoipods.com site and although there were new offers today (citi card, columbia house) the Blockbuster offer, which is obviousy the easiest sell to friends, still got the same message ”offer not available” try another. I will chekc back throughout the day and sahre my results.

13Yeah looks like it worth it, already got my regualr ipod from them. My conga is linked from my name if you want to join.

14Well, a good way to get 10 referrals is to get into a conga line. I set one up on nov. 2 when the new deal was released and I already helped 6 people getting there 10 referrals. Just check out the link below to see for yourself.

15Someone pointed out a probable cause to me today, Hamster… it’s possible that they only allow a certain number of a given signup per day. Try early in the morning, maybe you’ll have better luck.
I signed up for the infone offer today. Quick and painless, free, and instant credit. And I’ve even used the service already.

19The site linked from jojo’s post (#17) blatantly stole their proof article from my own site, http://people.bu.edu/jbrock/ipod_analysis.htm
Even the tree image is the same. If you don’t believe that mine is the original, look at the links section of freeipodguide.com, you’ll see mine is prominently featured (and has been for months).
