1I have been getting google as the top search result for alot of things…and the other search results suck compared to what google would give back.
November 12th, 2004 at 6:24 pm
2If you take a look at the 6th result when you run that search I think you’ll also see a familiar name.
Hint: it’s something we’ve known all along.

3This is a googlebomb revenge for MSN, although Google is no longer listed at the top. From Wikipedia on Googlebombing:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Googlebomb
“However, the first Google bomb mentioned in the popular press may have occurred accidentally in 1999, when users discovered that the query “more evil than Satan (http://www.google.com/search?q=more+evil+than+Satan)” returned Microsoft’s home page. Now, it returns links to several news articles on the discovery.”

7Google is the bomb. What other search engine is so comprehensive in getting the client what they want. Google is a corporation, and their aim is to be the number one search engine in the world. What other search engine has 200 million searches a day? none. Anyone who says google is evil, you are right. Any corporation is evil… just because google deals with the public it is being publicised more. So shut up aye. gmail is good too :). Heaps better than hotmail I have found – hotmail is full of smut, gmail filters all of that out. Google will be around forever, get over it! I’, at school in accounting by the way lol and I got really bored and I found this site :). Every school in the world uses the google search engine (where google is availible). So… bye :). Feel free to continue this in email if you like.

8The simpsons, for example, is more evil than the google. The simpsons satirizes everything so the public do not beleive in anything anymore. If google is banned, why not ban popular culture too. Lets ban TV, lets ban the newspaper/ While were at it, make listening to the radio illegal. haha.

10Justin you are either a fool or extremely ignorant. The point being is not that the technology is not convenient; but that they have the potential to use the information which they gather any way they choose. Be it used for marketing or by government. Read up why there are different search results in Google for different countries. They not only compile general statistics but they have the ability to see what was searched by you 2 years ago at five 5pm. When such power exists it should be scrutinized and questioned. Now with Gmail they will have the ability to scan your email. Remember Enron, Always ask “why?”

15There are more evil things than Google. If Bill Gates wanted to take over the world, he could easily. How can one man have so much power (by power, i mean money), yet, billions of people around the world live well below the poverty line. So google can look up what we searched 5 years ago …. WOW! does it really matter? People are dying in refugee camps around the world – waiting to get visas. But no – we can sit here and say google is the worst thing to ever happened to society/

17By now Google enjoys a 75 percent monopoly for all external referrals to most websites. Webmasters cannot avoid seeking Google’s approval these days, assuming they want to increase traffic to their site. If they try to take advantage of some of the known weaknesses in Google’s semi-secret algorithms, they may find themselves penalized by Google, and their traffic disappears. There are no detailed, published standards issued by Google, and there is no appeal process for penalized sites. Google is completely unaccountable. Most of the time Google doesn’t even answer email from webmasters.
May 2nd, 2006 at 12:15 am
18Okay, 75% of all traffic comes from google. 90% of all operating systems are made by microsoft. Take a step back, and look what your doing. Its a search engine. Most people search what they want, click on the most appropriate link, and then google is out of the equation (unless you have the google toolbar). cookies are easily deleted, the toolbar can be easily uninstalled. Webmasters should not try to defy google.. would you try defy Microsoft? I think not.

24It is interesting that at every site I go to that criticizes google, They end up being professionally spammed. Almost as if an organized effort to obscure the message. GOOGLE IS EVIL.
I’m pissed cause they banned my adsense. So I’m searching on GOOGLE IS EVIL to see opinions, and on EVERY site where there is public input, there ends up being some comments, from what i’ll call, Militant google supporters (don’t defy google? WTF is that?) And then there ends up being a bunch of spam links to distract from the topic.
I seriously thing this is Googles brand of censorship in action.
Fucking EVIL Bastards.
February 23rd, 2007 at 8:27 am
25GOOGLE AGENTS ARE SPAMMING THIS TOPIC BECAUSE THEY DON’t WANT THE BAD PUBLIC IMAGE THEY DESERVE FOR BEING EVIL.
July 10th, 2008 at 4:04 am
261. I came to this site from google.com , it was one of the first results.
2. I don’t see any arguments here against google, only
“GOOGLE AGENTS ARE SPAMMING THIS TOPIC BECAUSE THEY DON’t WANT THE BAD PUBLIC IMAGE THEY DESERVE FOR BEING EVIL.”
and that sounds like a stupid conspiracy theory and has no proof.
The only REAL objective post here against google is this one:
“If they [webmasters] try to take advantage of some of the known weaknesses in Google’s semi-secret algorithms, they may find themselves penalized by Google, and their traffic disappears. There are no detailed, published standards issued by Google, and there is no appeal process for penalized sites. Google is completely unaccountable. Most of the time Google doesn’t even answer email from webmasters.”
Now, I believe their algorithms are secret because if everyone knew them they would misuse them to put their site on eg. third instead of 300. place, and google sees this in their checkups and naturaly they fight those guys, who I think are a greater evil than google, because they are the ones who want to control the internet.
And one more thing- Google is fed by users, not commercials or goverment, so google’s interest is to staisfy them, not anything else or anyone else!
As for different results in different countries, I’ve read about the China incident, and the trick is that google works normally there just like in any other country but when some Chin or Chow types eg. “CHINA IS EVIL” he can see all the sites but is redirected from them bsy his own goverment, nothing to do with google…
And as for the pricks who compare socialism with google, you’re idiots. socialism is the system where the state holds all acquisitions, and google is a private firm, unable to exist in any other system other than capitalism…
any other ’sane’ objections to google?

27“In April Google sent out notices to AdWords advertisers stating that a new policy meant that unqualified pharmacy ads would be dropped in mid-May. On June 1 we noticed a qualitative difference in the ads for opiate pain killers. The “no prescription, online consultation, next-day delivery” ads have been replaced with Canadian pharmacy ads. Apparently Google is finally weeding out many rogue pharmacies, which they promised to do six months ago. Unfortunately, you don’t have to drill down very far in the main index to find those same rogue pharmacies. Google has stated that they won’t touch the main index results, so it remains to be seen whether this situation will improve.
When we learned three weeks ago that Google was planning on curtailing AdWords from rogue pharmacies, we moved this page to our archives. Now we’re moving it back to the front, because Google is having a hard time withdrawing from all the money they’re making. We’re also upset over Google’s remarkable luck with press spin. Many headlines and stories we’ve seen imply that Google is the crusading good guy on this issue. In fact, Google is the last holdout. Even after AOL, Microsoft, Yahoo and Overture just said “no” to rogue online pharmacies, Google’s Larry Page was quoted in the Wall Street Journal (October 31) as calling the campaign against rogue pharmacies “highly commercially motivated,” and even claimed that he was protecting consumers, rather than getting teenagers addicted to opiates: “As a matter of principle, we want to have free choice for consumers … even if we get some hassles for it.” He should have just admitted that Google is making tons of money off of rogue pharmacy ads. If those ads aren’t gone by the time Congress holds hearings on the issue, we hope Mr. Page will be invited to explain himself.”
According to DEA, Google is breaking the law: “Title 21, United States Code, section 843(b) defines a communication facility as ‘any and all public and private instrumentalities used or useful in the transmission of writing, signs, signals, pictures or sounds of all kinds and includes mail, telephone, wire, radio, and all other means of communication.’ Anyone who uses the Internet to facilitate the illegal sale of a controlled substance would be in violation of 21 U.S.C. 843(b), which is punishable by a term of imprisonment of not more than four years and a fine of not more than $30,000. This provision could apply to owners of Internet sites, prescribers, pharmacists, and patients.”

28Oh, yeah; and “arguments?”, you’re a dipshit.
October 21st, 2008 at 5:19 pm
29Those are arguments, you are a spammer, loser, ignorant who supports google.
The only interest google has, is money. It achieves money troght power. Google is like a “power-money” machine. And it would do anything it needs to get the most of it than it can. Even inmoral, unethical, things. But also it would have to cover by thiose things that could compromise its moiney and power if discovered and exposed. Secretism and censorship shall be used by google to cover the moves that would not have been aproved by government and/or society.
