Comments on: Half-Life 2 Released

I just purchased my copy of Half Life 2 today. Its Great, I Love It!! However I was disapointed to see that it doesn’t have a traditional multiplayer choice like HL 1 did. But what I do see is that on steam there is the Counter-Strike: Source and the Half-Life source. Well I already have the counter strike one because it was part of my retail package. However I do not have the Half Life 1- Source. When I check on steam about downloading it, or even purchasing it…it wants you to purchase a whole package…with everything. But I don’t need everything! I already have Half Life 2 and CS source. Does anybody know if they will allow you to download JUST the Half Life 1: Source ??? I wish I would’ve checked out steam first and ordered it that way… because the retail version I got was $54.99… and for $59 on steam you get the one with the Half Life 1 source. Anyway, just wondering if anyone knew about this. Thanks for any replies…

Mac’s are great and I love my 1.8DP G5, but PC’s will always have the upper-hand when it comes to great games. Fortunately, DOOM 3 is coming next year, so I’ll be able to play it, but when or even if HL2 will be ported is anyone’s guess. I’ve been waiting for it for a long time and now that it’s finally here, I can’t play it.

I can’t ever see going back to a PC solely, but fortunately, I can build a HL2-friendly PC for a few bucks (at least, compared to the cost of my G5).

Does your work computer actually have a half worthwhile GFX card? I would be surprised if it did….

OMG I have a 3ghz Dell with 2 gigs of RAM just sitting next to me at work… But I’m at work! Damn! Maybe I can “borrow” it for a few days. Or for the weekend. :)
