Nintendo DS “real” pictures & first impressions

Well, since Scrivs apparently hasn’t pulled the appropriate strings to get all of the FG editors an advance copy of the Nintendo DS to review, I’ll have to link to “Engadget’s”:http://www.engadget.com/entry/8783670602491113/ and “IGN’s”:http://ds.ign.com/articles/564/564540p1.html articles instead.

IGN has a picture of the game cards, which are extremely tiny. They look about the size of a SD or XD memory card. You can also see some of the setup screens, pictochat, etc. There is also a picture of the DS running a GBA game, which can use either screen you want.

The IGN article also has a picture of the thumbstrap, which looks totally silly. Hopefully it makes more sense once you use it, ’cause it looks retarded in the pictures.

Draw a couple of eyes and a mouth on the tip of your thumb and… oh look it’s a thumbleash! :D

Yes, it looks a bit silly, I predict an immediate market for alternate thumb straps/protectors.

Anyway it’s nice to finally see some real pictures of it. The top screen is a lot thinner than what I thought it would be.
