GraphicsGale just doesn't have that "simple" feel. Too many tools and stuff bloating it. Even though you can hide everything and move it about and all, it doesnt do it for me. A mix between Photoshop and MS Paint would have been sweet, it'd be my very first project if knew how to code stuff in c++ or whatever.

Well, he does mention that Photoshop or GIMP can be used. I think the idea was that anyone with a Windows installation could do it with no extra software needed.

Also, sweet pixel art example, Diogo. I could stare at it for days and still not catch all the little details the artist put in.

It's a bit ridiculous to recommend MS Paint for such a task... Sure it works, but there is much better software out there for creating pixel art. I guess the article was just trying to make the cost of entry look low though.

Well I hope this tutorial helps spawn artists for some home made RPG projects (and of corse fan RPG's), because too many of them look a tad lame.
