A few days ago, I posted a list of the best wifi hotels. Now HotelChatter has gathered their opinions of the worst wifi hotels.
HotelChatter noticed a skew in the data, remarking that it seemed lower priced hotel chains offered better wifi access than much pricier chains.
Wyndham, Four Seasons, etc. y’all wanna explain to us how Best Western, Holiday Inn, and other lower priced chains can manage to offer their guests free WiFi in the lobby (and sometimes in the guest rooms), but you guys need to charge 10 bucks a day? Let’s hope some of the hotels in this section change their policy in the future, and at the very least offer folks free WiFi in their respective lobbies.
Without further ado, the hotels that ranked as the worst for wifi access:
- Marriott Flagship
- Fairmont
- Hilton
- Hyatt
- Any other hotel that charges for wireless access in the lobby
fee or free is not the issue. i would be much happier paying for access that I know is reliable, than having problems on a free hotel network. you would be better-off runing an extensive network analysis on the systems you are rating to determine if it is the best or worst, instead of looking at whether it is free or fee. this analysis should include making sure all guests get a quality connection at all times, even if other guest are busy downloading music or movies, or if other guests have viruses or spyware affecting the network or spreading to your laptop.
