Although I can’t say I have much faith in average joe understanding what the heck this advert is for and what the heck a ‘browser’ is…
I think the idea is to start a dialogue. Many corporate VPs, execs, etc. read the NY Times. If nothing else it increases mindshare, then the execs stop in the IT department and say, “Have you heard of this new Firefox browser?” IT then has a great way to get Firefox in the door at their organization.
