The largest and best BitTorrent site on the ‘net, “Suprnova.org”:http://www.suprnova.org/ has been shut down.
From the site:
As you have probably noticed, we have often had downtimes. This was because it was so hard to keep this site up! But now we are sorry to inform you all, that SuprNova is closing down for good in the way that we all know it. We do not know if SuprNova is going to return, but it is certainly not going to be hosting any more torrent links. We are very sorry for this, but there was no other way, we have tried everything.
This is a big loss for the Bittorrent community, but I expect they are shutting down the site to avoid being “raided”:http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/12/14/finnish_police_raid_bittorrent_site/print.html or have other legal action taken against them.
For a list of alternative sites, check out this “list”:http://www.slyck.com/news.php?story=545. (At the time I wrote this, their server was down, hopefully it will be back up soon.)
*Edit:* “TorrentBits.com”:http://torrentbits.org/ has also been shut down without reason.

While its a shame suprnova is gone, fortunately I didn’t use it often.

6One option to fix content leaking out of DIV containers is to use either:
/* Hide all overflowing content */
div { overflow: hidden; }
or
/* Automatically display a scroll bar when needed */
div { overflow: auto; }
More information can be found at W3C CSS 2.

11I dont think some people realise just how bad this is! Nova was THE best, not only that but I am finding that every torrent site (even the ones that have changed sites(torrentreaktor.net) are gone or not functioning. Is it possible to use kazaa/sharazaa just to look for torrents?
THIS IS BAD!

12yes. i heard the next best site to suprnova was torrentbits.org. google search torrent bits, and what do you see in the heading? Good Bye [from torrent bits]. this is scary… are they all shutting down? im going back to dc++, but it sucks compared to bittorent, unless you find a high speed user.

16I am sure they will now try even harder to keep the site open and learn to operate it better…there may still be a few bugs to work out. How much time is there left to work on that
