Pretty soon here I’m going to go out and buy a Mac Mini, and I’m going to equip it from scratch: new keyboard, monitor, and speakers. My mind is made up on all of those items but I know nothing about Bluetooth mice. After conducting a little research, I’m leaning towards the Logitech MX900. Reviews said it is a solid mouse though it has occasional problems in games (and I game a fairly decent amount). So, are there better Bluetooth mice out there? Which is your favorite?

How much hardcore gaming could you see yourself doing on the Mini though? It’s definitely not a gamer’s machine.
all I ask is that warcraft III work and i’ll be fine.
I have the “Logitech Cordless Desktop MX for Bluetooth” (horrible product name) that includes the MX 900 mouse and am pretty satisfied. I use it on both a PC and a Mac and it works well with both. You can even switch between the two decently easy, especially FROM the PC to the Powerbook.
It’s a pain in the ass to get anything to pair with my PC if neither the mouse or keyboard is connected. You push the button on the mouse and on the base station like it says to, but for no apparent reason it requires you to click on things to move to the next steps. Kinda hard to do with no mouse or keyboard.
I use a MX 700, the non-bluetooth kind so I cannot comment on the bluetooth performance. The Mouse itself is fairly heavy, but feels solid. I have a medium sized hand (whatever that means), and this mouse is the most comfortable that I’ve ever used.
There are many extra buttons, but only 3 of them are readily accessable.
-Both thumb buttons are fine.
-The one right behind the scrollwheel is fine.
The one even behind that button puts my hand in an awkard position, so it’s never used.
-The one in front of the scrollwheel is a tiny bit far away and I end up pushing the scrollwheel button half the time.
For WoW, I use two thumb buttons instead of ‘shift’ and ‘control’: makes things so much easier and faster. And I haven’t noticed any problems with the mouse. Besides which, If you’re using Mac Mini for gaming, this mouse will probably be the last thing I’d consider a bottleneck.
okay, just clear this up. Me and gaming mean me and Warcraft III. I’ve already decided (whether it likes it or not) that warcraft III is going to run fine on my Mac Mini. PC Gaming = Warcraft III, Counter Strike, and probably Half Life 2 but I haven’t played it yet.
The Logitech is very nice, I own a Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer (The 3.0 version if I’m not mistaken) and I’m very satisfied with it, I haven’t had any problems for games with it, if I were to buy a bluetooth mouse I think I’d go for the Bluetooth Version of it, now I can’t work without it’s two extra buttons on the side ;)

I have to say the bt510 is a little week on features. just my 2 cents. that probably why i cant afford much.

It is extremely incredible and works on about any surface…
Very responsive and I do a lot of photoshop airbrushing…

This article is pretty old, but still the topic is popular, there are a lot better mice now for sale, i opted for the microsoft notebook 5000 bluetooth mouse, but in the process and since i had to analyse a lot more BT mice i did an article on the matter, feel free to have a read, as it will still be up to date for a few months
