The folks over at 43 Folders have given Delicious Library a spin and seem to like what they have come across, although it doesn’t really fit within the lifestyle of the reviewer. In all honesty after reading his insight (a couple months after our own writeup) I still can’t see myself using the software that much. I am building an impressive DVD collection, but they are all right in front of me and I certainly can remember each one I have.
Maybe if I loaned them out more I would be a little more willing to look into the software, but for now I will just have to stick with my memory. Of course there is a great possibility that the software could be use for much more than just scanning in stuff, but I don’t see it at the moment.
So, a lovely UI, cool functionality, but nothing just yet that would make this a must-buy for me at US$40. I’ll definitely keep watching this app with anticipation, though, because I think it has a tremendous amount of potential as a personal information and media hub.
Sums up my thoughts as well.

1-DVDProfiler is great for Windows… DVDs only(http://www.intervocative.com/Downloads.aspx)
-Guzzlefish (www.guzzlefish.com) is not bad for cross platform since it is web based (pros and cons to that, obviously)… plus it catalogues CDs, and video games
-DVDAficionado is pretty good, also (http://www.dvdaficionado.com/)... DVDs only
-I’ve also used OXD Software’s “Movie Organizer”… good and bad with it, too… they also have a “Book Organizer”… (http://www.oxidy.com/oxdsoftware/products.asp)
All of these programs (and websites) can be used with a bar code reader… and there is a lot of value in it for some of us… my lists on the respective sites below (all of which are at least 50-100 titles short of my actual list, so, as you can see, some of us can really use a program of some sort to keep up with this stuff… sorry for no other suggestions for the OSX crowd than Guzzlefish & Aficionado… well, one other suggestion… Virtual PC 7).
DVDProfiler
Guzzlefish
DVDAficionado

3For those of you using Linux (specifically GNOME) there’s mCatalog which serves the same purpose and mimics (i.e. rips off) the Delicious Library interface.
