Brad over at Wincustomize.com has put together a list of things that he believes all operating systems should have. These include:
- Seamless Distributed Computing
- Seamless Distributed File System Databases
- Global User Managment
- Universal Environments
- Component Based Operating Systems
Only one that really interests me is #1 since I have 2 other computers that at times are sitting idly doing nothing. I should have them crunch how much money I am going to make per second for the next 80 years. What am I talking about? I can do that on my own. $0.0000005 seems about right.

How about “no boot time’ for a PC? My old Apple IIe boots in about 1 sec–that’s at about a 4mhz processor to my recolection.
My 733 Mhz machine boots just as fast, if not faster than my year-old 2.5 Ghz PC.
Your auto is the most complicated single computer on the face of the planet (don’t take my word, it’s public record). When was the last time you had to ***wait*** for it to boot?
Would you buy a car if you had to???
Yes, a SolarPC is on the way too….
