Keanu good actor or bad actor? Pointless argument if you ask me. If he’s so bad, how come he keeps getting parts and keeps making millions? Face it, he’s here to stay. Just Enjoy his good looks if you don’t like his acting.

Everyone in Bram Stoker’s Dracula sucked. Bram Stoker’s Dracula sucked. Period. Why bash any actor\actress for a sucky movie, that by the way, was a sucky movie because the director spent all his time worrying about scenery and ignoring actors and story?

The whole Keanu Reeves argument is kind of pointless anyway. The man is a millionaire many times over. He is still doing movies. I swear, ever time I turn around, I hear “Keanu Reeves has been signed to do ….” So he must be doing something right.

Keanu is so far from the original character it’s unbeleiveable. Seriously, if I could have picked someone, anyone, for them NOT to cast as John Constantine it’d have been Keanu.

Having said that. The movie is pretty good and Keanu, while not like the “original” Constantine, does a passable job as the “American” version of the character.

keanu is awesome.one of the greatest actors to ever walk this plane.the movie was just as good as i thought it was going to be, the best movie i’ve ever seen.the only problem with it was that he played the part of a christian, or at least trying to get into heaven.that kinda sucked, but well worth enduring for seeing him on the big screen.and i know im a guy, but i gotta admit, keanu is sexy.im sorry guys.well, i dont care if you’ve seen the movie yet or not, but i encourage EVERYONE to see it,and again if you already have.i know i will.i am looking forward to seeing him in another great film. and every other movie he’s been in kicked ass too.

I saw an interview with keanu about the matrix where we was talking about the cgi and he said, “there was nothing there, so I had to ‘pretend play’ ” the interview said, “you mean act?” Keanu replied, “Yeaaaaah, act.”

I feel my own brain cells dying just thinking about that interview.

I saw Constantine last night… VERY cool movie! Yeah, Keanu was Keanu, but he was as acceptable in this as he was in The Matrix.

The story is the real star. Very interesting supporting characters/actors, and a plot that makes the afterlife a very real thing to worry about now (and I’m not religious). Special effects didn’t suck, either.

If you’d like a film that is a Matrix meets The Exorcist meets The Sixth Sense, then you’d like this.

So two people said he was perfect for the part? Perhaps you could come to that conclusion if you knew nothing about the original hellblazer comics. Jon Constatine is a smart ass, wisecracking, english asshole. Reeves might be considered to meet one of those criteria, but having met the guy I’d hesitate to say even that (hint: he isn’t british, and you’ve all seen him “act”)…

The fact is that questionable casting aside, the film diverges greatly from the source material – this isn’t a problem as long as you don’t expect to take the original fans along for the ride and that what you craft ends up being a decent piece of work in it’s own right. Everything I’ve heard to date states that it is anything but a decent piece of work. I for one think it’s sad that yet another creation of Alan Moore has been poorly served by it’s transition to film – no wonder he hasn’t accepted any money for this…

I don’t know what people have against Keanu Reeves? He is pretty good. And Matrix trilogy was the perfect fit.

In the same token Brad Pitt gets a lot of shit. Brad Pitt is awesome in Snatch, Fight Club, and Ocean’s 11 (how he is always eating something whenever on screen).

Man, atleast they are not as bad as Ben Afleck.

I’ll definitely see the movie and almost certainly enjoy it. Although, despite my appreciation of fine films, I am still easy to please and enjoy mainstream schlock as much as cinema classics.

And, Keanu is not so bad… how can you not like him after “Bill and Ted…”

Most people just judge Keanu as a bad actor because Matrix 2 and 3 didn’t turn out the way they expected it to be. Matrix 1 is a movie that runs on railroad tracks and is simple to digest everything, with the 2nd and 3rd part the directors took the meaning of it deeper and those that couldn’t understand what was going on simply put their rage on the main actor.

Personally I think he did a great job on the Matrix, he wasn’t very good in “November Rain” (a love story) but maybe he’s just not cut out for it. I recommend all young teenagers that didn’t fully understand the sequels to watch them again in 5 or 6 years and you’ll see the movie in a new light, if you read a little about mytholy it will come even better for you.

After reading many analisies of the trilogy I trully believe it’s sets some new standards for everyone to follow, wether you enjoy the film for it’s fight sequences or it’s story. It’s a great trilogy to watch.

I recently read a pretty interesting article on him that actually proposed Reaves as one of the greats.

There were some interesting points. One of the most thought-provoking was to consider the variety of stuff he has done and done well (Bill & Ted, Point Break, The Matrix).

As with all movies, it’s largely casting. Most actors couldn’t do what he did in those movies (Tom Cruise in Bill & Ted? Will Smith in The Matrix?). Perhaps Reaves couldn’t do what other actors did in theirs…but who knows.

With the good stuff he’s put out, I find it difficult to call him a bad actor (or even a one-role actor). Maybe he’s just so convincing that you can’t imagine him in another role and because he’s so convincing in that role, he’s continually being casted for it. I say wait until he’s casted for something completely different and then see how he does.

Just a thought.

The Matrix trilogy wouldn’t have been the same with anyone else. (BTW, my all-time favorite movie…seen as a whole…). I think what are seen as “flaws” in his acting style actually made him perfect for the part.

I will see Constantine based on the previews and because I see it as a cross between Spawn and The Matrix and because Keanu Reeves seems perfect for the part.

You hate Neo? Dude, he is the One.

I’m not a big acting expert, so I don’t really notice or care about how “good” acting is or isn’t.

I will probably see the movie, though I don’t know if I’ll see it in the theater. It looks too scary to see in the theater. Maybe I’ll wait for the DVD so I can pause it and take a walk so I’m not scared or something. :)
