As easy as it is to knock Windows for being easily compromised, I believe it is just as easy to lock it down. On my PC I have never come across any spyware/viruses in the past 3 years. Only thing I get that is annoying is a blue screen.
This is a very simple guide showing how to lockdown your Windows install. It’s a shame that to really accomplish this you have to slipstream your install. I can see that being an issue for a lot of novices.
