Well the good thing about them going public is that they seem to be churning out new products left and right. Basically they are headed down the portal path that they so vehemently tried to steer clear from.
Google Inc. said on Wednesday movie showtimes are now available on its leading Web search engine and can be accessed via personal computers or mobile phones and other wireless devices that use short-message service.
The new feature also provides information such as theater locations and reviews, and enables users to search for movies by title, plot or genre.
Cool that you can search via mobile phone though. I tried to do a search, but had no idea what to type in. If anyone figures it out please let me know. Obviously I am not geek enough today.

1If you search for the name of a movie, or search using movie:something, the results will appear. It will show you movie times and reviews (a la Google News, computer generated and organized). It also links to IMDB.
I found it kind of weird how it is “Google Movies”, but it doesn’t have its own page, you need to just use the Web Search section.

3Brian, I imagine Google Movies doesn’t have its own page for the same reason as Scrivs’ portal comment: “Basically [Google is] headed down the portal path that they so vehemently tried to steer clear from.”

4Just type “Movie: ” into any google search box.
