I thought I’d commemorate my first post here at ForeverGeek by doing a post about the man my alias came from. Macgyver. In case you hadn’t heard, Macgyver season 1 was released on DVD a few weeks ago. The Season 1 DVDs come packed with 6, count ‘em, 6 discs of pure action starring the greatest handyman ever. In case you’ve forgotten what the man, the myth, the legend looks like, here’s a picture of him in all his mullet glory.

If you haven’t seen the DVDs, I recommend you borrow them, rent them, or buy them. You’ll immediately be immersed for the next 20 or so hours. In case you don’t remember Macgyver, he can do anything, and I mean ANYTHING with a stick of bubble gum(including the foil wrapper), a credit card, matches, and some duct tape. He can build airplanes, bombs, and stop sulfuric acid leaks in their tracks with a simple Hershey’s chocolate bar. Check him out, if you don’t, you’re missing out.

1Gotta love MacGyver. One of my favorite MAD Magazine cartoons is one where MacGyver, in need of a time-telling device, saves the day by fashioning a sundial from a pocket watch.

2It’s funny you mention this, I have started getting the DVD’s through Netflix. I’ve watched most of the episodes and for fun, I decided to write down all the “MacGyver Moments” that happen in each episode. Not a description of each episode, just the interesting points. I posted them on my site if anyone wants to see them – http://17thdegree.com. I’m staggering them out though, I usually post a new episode every monday and wednesday. Woo hoo! MacGyver rules!
