This is the stuff I like to read about. Geeks saving their asses by using the basic tools of Linux. This guy had a production server crash on him and he had to perform a restore of the system, something he has never done before. Personally, I would be sweating bullets if this situation occurred to me, but he seemed to handle it smoothly and ran the scripts that he had setup over the years.
Never too early to start backing up your data, but it is definitely always too late if you have yet to start.

1what’s with that f*cking goooogle ad!? If you continue to place ads, I’ll no longer visit this site.

2Wow, one tiny Google ad would do that? If would love to contribute $500k to the FG fund I will gladly take ALL ads off of this site for 1 year.
Anyways, I added a bottom border to the frontpage ad so hopefully it annoys less people.

3Damn… chill out, it takes money to run a server.
The new border is nice by the way.

4it’s not the ads that are located at the bottom – it is the ones that are between topics.

5I don’t see any ads but I use AdBlock. If you’re so hot on adfree websites but are too cheap to pay for it I suggest you use it too.
