I am having the similar problem jeremy having. I have two 19" LCD monitors (both analog, 1280 X 1024) and I could not find a PCI card that expands the desktop across both monitors with 2560 X 1024 resolution.
I also considered Matrox dualhead2go but gives only 2048 X 768. Can anyone suggest a PCI card that does this? My desktop does not have a AGP slot.

Look for a program called Ultramon. This will allow you to customize your taskbar across however many screens you need.
