We all like to see hot new innovations on the desktop and anything that makes our 18 hours of daily computer usage more interesting deserves our respect. Okay, okay, not necessarily 18 hours, but when you are staring at XHTML and moving it into a CMS things can get boring real fast.

Luminocity is the new h0tn3ss for Gnome. What purpose does it serve towards productivity? Well judging from these videos absolutely none, but it’s freaking cool nonetheless. Basically it makes funny things happen with the windows within a desktop environment. And it does it pretty damn smoothly.

And the transparency. And the paperlike use of windows. And, and, and just the coolness of it all. God bless those open source developers.
