Namco X Capcom is a turn based RPG that features 200+ characters from both companies like Ryu, Jin, Arthur, and KOS-MOS. I don’t know about the system, but the game was originally meant to be a Namco all stars RPG to celebrate the company’s 50th anniversary. The game will also have an anime intro made by Production IG.
Sounds like serious fun to me. And how can you resist a game with our beloved Capcom characters in an RPG setting from the creators of Xenosaga? And with anime sequences by Production IG (same people who did the Kill Bill anime sequence)! It’s set for Japanese release in May 6. I hope North America isn’t being an ass and looking this game over.
Thanks, Delurio, for the heads-up. Screenshots found here.

5Namco has made superb games recently and Capcom has too. I believe this game will be awesome and if anyone doubts it, go play games like Resident Evil 4 or Xenosaga. Keep an eye out for this one; I’m sure RPG fans, Namco/Capcom/both fans, and the fighting game genre fans will love it.

17I bet a lot of Namco and Capcom fans would be dissapointed if this game wasn’t broughht to the U.S. so HOPEFULLY they might consider sending it so we might be able to enjoy this new RPG.

19this game reaaaaaaaaaalllllllyyyyy SUCKS ya know if ya dont do a damn thing about its language! so a simple advice to you producers is get your butts on translating this game into US version! got it!? you call yourselves producers???? if you had realesed it to japan why make it more considerable and make it into english instead of japanese huh??? the reason is just that you are in japan am i right??? so you made it japanese ver. oh cool! now i wont be able to understand a single line in this game!! (except from mission start and mission accomplished w/c is said by cammy’s agents!) DONT BE SELFISH AND GO MAKE THIS GAME ENGLISH VER. OK?

24I really like this game…..I…..I haven’t seen a game like this in awhile! I’m 16 and I make my life about games, and I don’t know if this will ever leave me. It’s Japanese right now and I want to buy it, and I’ve never imported, not even thought about it! This game drives me to itself, the magnetisim this game has over me is phenomenal, I can’t resist, this game could very well be a LEGEND, it’s driving me to bring over really bad. I’ve always been patient about games…but this…..it’s too much…I want this game, I NEED this game! It’s too great to pass up, and I honestly lost hope in games for a sec, but this one opened my eyes…Final Fantasy 7, your crown has been taken……

25theres a big market for tactical RPGs. One with your favorite namco and capcom characters since the 80s would be an instant hit. its a real pity that such a game isnt considered for US release.

26It truly is a shame these companies are denying Europe and the Americas the chance to play this game. By the looks of things it could be one of my fav games of all time and i’m generally an ‘old school’ player.
December 22nd, 2005 at 10:32 am
27It’s gonna be difficult (but not impossible) to port this game here in the US ‘coz there would have to be some sort of agreement between the 2 US companies and most of the characters are from games not even released here. I have been playing the import version and it rocks. Jin with Ken and Ryu is unstoppable.

31I would love playing Namco X Capcom because it contains so many nostalgic characters not to mention that it looks like an great combination of strategy and action, something that most current US strategy RPGs lack.

March 3rd, 2006 at 6:10 am
34Ohhhhh yeah i like this game better then the other games you must release this game in US vision all the fans people like it Ryu,Jin,Ken and Sakura are the best!
March 5th, 2006 at 8:49 am
35Ahhh man you must bring this game now in europe and if you can’t bring in the game because you need a voice translater in engish then just keep the Japanese voice on but have engish subtitle and word on it…So come on I’m begging to bring in this game… not only that this game is better then kingdom heart 2 and disgaea 2.
March 18th, 2006 at 5:39 pm
36please bring this game here! there are so many things that must be missed, due to the fact of Japanesese only releases…please try to break the chain of continuing japanese only releases on great game concepts such as this..

May 29th, 2006 at 2:12 am
39Funny, almost everyone is just dying to play this game. Now I want to play it not to mention all the characters you see for the first time or characters from back then. Just so many of them and the combination of teams you can make. All the talking and different story background and multiple endings. I really want to fight with KOS-MOS but sadly it is still not coming to America for a while or maybe not at all.

44I really do hope they consider bringing this to the US. Whoever made the decision that it might not sell was terribly wrong. I know the cultist of Namco & Capcom games will pick this up in a heartbeat. On top of everything, the only thing that they really have to do is the voice overs and also the written language. It’s a damn shame that Americans (as a whole) are so lazy. But I mean, one day we will see this, but it’s going to be WAYYY too late because everyone will have already played it in Japanese. Who knows, maybe there will be a PSP release. It is still a VERY new system.
