New Gmail Features

Gmail has launched a few more new features in the past few days, and one can only assume they are inching closer to removing the “beta” from the name.

One thing they have done is create a plain-HTML version of Gmail, so that if you login using a browser that does not support everything needed for the full-featured Gmail, it will redirect you to this version.

Since your browser isn’t fully supported, you might notice that some of your favorite features aren’t available in the current view, including the following:

  • Filter creation
  • Settings
  • Spell checker
  • Keyboard shortcuts
  • Address auto-complete

In addition to that, Google has also integrated Gmail into its free, online image organizer Picasa. You can open your Gmail account from your Picasa account and send photos to friends and family, whether they use Gmail or not.

BTW, I have 50 invites if anyone is not “in the loop”.

I seem to be having problems using Gmail with ..er MSIE 6 …. it says something that I should switch to a browser which is supported by Gmail. So … all the cool nifty javascript like features are not available. I don’t know what’s going on cos I’ve not changed or deleted any part of IE.
