Recently Nokia announced three new cellular phone models, one of which is an upgrade to the 6230 I currently own. I am happy with my cellular phone, but I felt a little knot in my stomach when I heard the new features, having a bigger screen and a 1.3 mega pixel camera which is something I always desired quite a bit on my current one. However, I soon after discovered that Sony had also unveiled two new phones which are much more appellative to me. For a preview of the new phones check out this article from techtree.

The W800i is the first cell phone to adopt the Walkman brand, it plays music (no news about the format yet) but according to the site it should be as easy as drag and drop. It has a 2 mega pixel camera and a slot for Memory Stick Duo, but the true jewel of the crown for me is the K750i.

This cell phone has the same characteristics as the W800i but it has a better camera implementation, with auto-focus and photo-light (which serves for better focusing). It doesn’t have a flash implemented, but you can buy it separately as an add-on.

Now considering that Sony Ericsson phones are usually cheaper than their nokia counterparts and the two phones exceed the Nokia ones on every aspect except the screen resolution (in the case of the 6230i), I bid farewell to Nokia unless they making better phones at more affordable prices very soon.

Anyone want to buy a 6230 with a 256MMD card?
