The New York Public Library is putting hundreds of thousands of its images online, allowing for free personal downloads to anyone that is interested. Photos can range from many topics for example, maps, Civil War photos, and illuminated medieval manuscripts.
Starting Thursday 250,000 images will be available to download and over the next couple of months the collection will grow to 500,000 images.
Very cool.
