Wasnt this house offered in a Fox contest or something?
Yeah it was give-away similar to the “Who Shot Mr. Burns?” campaign where if you won you got a cameo in an episode and a free trip to L.A or some such.
I had seen pictures of the inside of the house and at first I was thinking “Awesome! That would be really cool to live there!”. Then the longer I looked at it I realized I would slowly go insane. Still kinda neat though. :op
Woah…saw those pics a REALLY long time ago. Freaks me out just as much now as it did then. Someone had a lot of money/free time. ;)
If this is the one that is in Las Vegas (http://www.lasvegassun.com/dossier/misc/simpsons/photos01.html) I have been there before. My friend and I actually tracked down the address and used mapquest to give directions right to the door. Evidently someone has since bought the house and “desimpsonified” it. It was a pretty funny scene though, we went up to the door and I ended up asking the guy “Umm, is this the Simpsons house?”. Matt Groening signed his name and drew a picture of Bart in the sidewalk square in front of the house. That is the only Simpsons related part of the house now. I guess the new owner couldnt take it either.
Man, seeing the inside of the house reminds me of why I would have to scratch my eyes out if I lived there. The colors are just way to bright and as much as I adore the Simpsons that shade of yellow in real life would make me nauseated after a while. :0)
Everything is overdone in the real house. Sure, the Simpsons home is god awful to begin with; considering there are ears of corn on the drapes of the kitchen window (I know, I am a nerd), but this real house seems to be exaggerated.
I mean come on look at the garage on the real one, then watch the show. It does not protrude from the house that much. Now I feel like a bigger dork than I am, wait I am a big dork.

Some of the things in the house is over exaggerated and some things are done totally wrong, but hey it’s a fictious house brought to life their has to be some flaws.
