wonder if it'll support my ibook... 500 mhz g3, first white model.
Or to be more specific, I wonder if it'll actually run on my ibook (it says it supports it) without crawling

John,

You can either do a clean install (wipe drive and install Tiger) or an Archive + Install, which places all of your previous user files, including preferences, etc. into a safe directory and puts Tiger on as your main o/s. The clean install is always your best bet for the freshest start, but loads of people prefer the latter method.

So... Being new to Mac OS I have two questions:

Will I need to reinstall or is there an upgrade path from Panther?

And:

If I can upgrade will it negitively affect stability?
