Colour Lovers

Speaking of color, I came across COLOURLovers a site devoted to colors and pallettes. (Who would think?)

The site purpose seems simple enough:

a place to view, rate and review some lovely colours & palettes. the idea is to create a place of color inspiration where a designer of any sort can see new and lovely colours… find out what colors are hot, what work well in other uses… and simply make some love with colour.

I now think the majority color on ForeverGeek should be this one. Anyone with me?

    Ooo, very handy indeed.

And no I am not with you since that pallette sucks. Yes, it sucks.

    *goes to implement orange/blue pallette*

C’mon, that’s sooo sitepoint. What you want is something to call your own ;-)

Ah, pink. Nice. As an added bonus, since we all know that if you make shit pink the women will come, we would have a nice traffic boost.

Geez, looking at Nicole’s site, well, y’all should let her have a crack at FG :-)

  5. Scrivs says:

Yes Nicole has a pretty site, but we can’t let her touch FG because:

    1) She uses a WordPress template (hehe. haha. hoho.)
    2) She doesn’t even link to FG on her site!

  6. Nicole says:

Thanks, Mike, but it’s true — I use a WordPress template. Although, in my defense I modified it some (at least in the header area). It does show my penchant for bright colors, and thus why I’m vocal about the FG colors.

As for linking to FG, I didn’t think Scrivs had ever even been to my site. Plus, FG doesn’t link to me either. :P

  7. Scrivs says:

Haha, looking at the last comment I see many links to your site from FG.

    :-P

I’m feeling a lot of tension here.

I’m new to FG, and think the new colour scheme is fine. The new layout isn’t particularly intuitive though. When seated at a computer the human eye naturally falls to, and scans, the centre of the screen. Yet if I’m running my browser in full screen mode the main content of FG is off to the left. I think you’d be better to stick to a 3 column layout but chuck the main content in the centre column.
