Schools nowadays try to teach more pratical stuff. It’s like my girlfriend’s “Introduction to Computers” class, where she has to explain with fabricated phrases what is hardware and software and why they are important which is utterly useless.

If all I know of computers today came from what I learned in school I’d still be playing Solitaire during my free-time on the computer.

I didn’t feel stupid when I looked upon those questions, I felt more practical and I’m glad to see the system has evolved.

That’s just typical European snobiness. If you ever had a chance to see worldwide college rankings, you might have noticed that American colleges fill the majority of the top 100: And those colleges don’t import all of their students from Europe and Asia.
