While the upgrade from 10.3.8 to 10.3.9 has been accomplished without incident for many, some have experienced problems with Java and Java-enabled websites in the new Safari 1.3, which was released with 10.3.9.

You can run this simple test to determine whether you will experience this problem, and subsequently run a few updates to fix it.

  1. Go to the Utilities folder inside your Applications folder.
  2. Open Terminal.
  3. Type: java -version
  4. Press Return.

If you get a message that says “Segmentation Fault” after pressing return, this your computer is affected by this problem.

Follow the link below to learn more about the updates you can download to resolve this problem.
