With so much music stored on the average user’s iPod, there’s bound to be more than a few songs that suck. And when songs are chosen at random for play, those less than desirable songs are sure to pop up in the playlist. AJ Schuster of Maximum Aardvark has come up with one way to improve the iPod shuffle. His method involves four smart playlist of songs of varying ratings and a fifth smart playlist that is a union of the other four.

This seems like a lot of work, so one may have to be especially fed up with one’s iPod randomness to take the time to do this.
