Final Fantasy Coming to Xbox 360
Tuesday, May. 17 2005 | Author: ScrivsOne of biggest gripes for Xbox was that it didn’t contain the premier Playstation titles like Final Fantasy. Well that argument can no longer be used because Final Fantasy is coming to Xbox 360.
This is a major score for Microsoft. Can’t say it will dent Sony at all because I believe eventually everyone will end up buying both consoles.
Wonder how much Microsoft paid to make this happen…?

1Oh my gosh, you’ve got to be kidding me.Xbox having Final Fantasy? thats a load of crap. Xbox doesnt deserve to behold final fantasy, the greatest rpgs in the entire system. Xbox should be banned from using Final Fantasy, all they want is the money, thats all they are using it for, thats if it gets in the market, which there will be a LOT of protests, not just from me! Once again, this is retarded, and if it is true, then i hate Xbox and Bill Gates because of their treachery….

It actually sounds more like it’s coming out on the current Xbox. And in a hint twords what will be the Xbox360’s backwards compatibility, it will supposedly work with it also. Perhaps the 360 will only work with more current Xbox titles such as Halo 2?

6Well realy Nintendo had Final Fantasy first, and I am sure that there was an uproar when FF7 was anounced for the Playstation.
No one said that Square/Enix is giving up on Sony, just that they are porting to the Xbox… it isn’t the end of the world.

13As AkaXakA already said, the Final Fantasy coming to the XBox 360 is in fact a port of Final Fantasy XI, which makes alot of sense, since the game itself is struggling to exist with new competitors such as Lineage 2 and World of Warcraft.
Bringing the game onto a next gen Console to get some spotlight again makes perfect sence, since Microsoft already developed a pretty good online gaming platform and it already exists for the PS2, therefore, can be played on the PS3.
(Note: Before anyone asks about the HD required for FFXI: I’m not sure if the PS3 already comes with a harddrive, but there is a slot for a detachable one on the console: http://www.e3.playstation.com/news/releases/nws_000.aspx , search for “Storage”)

18What a load of crap. Xbox is just as deserving of Final Fantasy as is Sony. You all act like Microsoft is the huge big evil corperation and Sony is the good guy. But they’re both in it for your money. That being besides the point, Final Fantasy was originally a Nintendo game, does that mean that only Nintendo is deserving of Final Fantasy? Bah, Square-Enix certainly didn’t think so. Maybe you should point the finger at them instead. Obviously they thought it’s a good idea.

19In my opinion there should be separate games made for each platform. Maybe 360 would get FFXII whereas Ps3 would simultaneously get FFXIII, and since FFs arent sequels, no one can complain about getting a better game, or having a game leave off badly. It’s very simple. Im sure Square has something up their sleeves.

20I’m not sure why all the complaining about FF coming to Xbox. I for one, believe Square has finally clued in that it could make a lot more money by releasing it to the two leading game consoles. I also like not having to buy two expensive systems for certain games that only appear on one or the other. P.S. You have to admit Xbox games in the most part have looked better when there have been cross overs!

21I personally feel that Microsoft is fully able to take such a great title like FFX1 into their hands. As most of you have probably noticed, the 360 doesn’t seem to be doing to good against the Ps3. Microsoft needs these titles to hold it’s own… Ontop of all this I bet Square Enix would be more then happy to have FFX1 as a launch title on the 360 for a bit more cash.
The bottom line is that the 360 needs it, Square Enix wants it and fans of the 360 will enjoy it.

24i agree {WOR}lock, good point! Besides just because MS has a Bill Gates (i need all the money in your pockets) identity and almost everybody has a bad Windows experience, its easy to blame such a company. How many companies do you know that aren’t interessted in your money?? I have every console at home including the x360 and i must say it totally rocks. For 400 euros this machine beats my pc on graffixxx, and costs a hole damn lot more!
In the mean time i will just buy some x360 games till the PS3 comes out, which will probably take a long ass time anyway!

26I LOVE FINAL FANTASY. I’m pretty sure everyone does… the fact that its on xbox360 doesnt bother me, ill buy any and every console to play that game.
So for some of you, would you stop complaining about the shift. im pretty sure its not your decision.

27I love gaming as much as the next man and over the ears I’ve had every console you’d care to metion and I don’t get why the 360 doesn’t ‘desurve’ FFXI.
AS far as console go I can easily say that the PS2 sucks more ass than the Gamecube, which is so underated and shunned mostly by the people that have never owned one.
I would wager that most of you who don’t want FFXI on the 360 don’t have one and didn’t have an XBOX. The 360 ‘desurves’ to have FFXI purely because it will open it to a larger audience and because it will give it a better game play expirence (because the XBOX’s is actually good rather than settling for that poor graphics and shite interface of the PS2 and most likely PS3)
If there is something that doesn’t desurve something its the PS3 that doesn’t desurve online play. The PS2’s net play was one of the crappest things I’ve ever had to play and it was the playonline server that made it remotel bearable. Now XBOX-LIVE, that is a damn good service. If ou take issue with me just look on the PS3 official website; the description of the PS3 ‘origional’ internet play is XBOX-LIVE. Every detail is stolen from Microsoft.
Final fantasy for XBOX-LIVE; it seems to me that Microsoft that got the short end of the deal.

29i agree with spike 110% regarding the internet service. i dunno, the way i look at it is that the xbox live will really be the only internet service provider that will do the acclaimed FF series justice as far as multiplayer play is concerned. and i’m really excited to see that xbox live is finally being utilized with a respectable rpg so that console crowd can enjoy multiplayer rpgs as the PC’ers have for years.

31Yeah the 360 and FF together is going to be awesome. As far as there being no sequels to FF’s what about FFX-2. Let see, Now the PS3 isnt getting its own verson of FFXII it coming out in october (unless they push it back again, for USA) which is strictly for the PS2. Which the PS3 will play. Like what was mentioned earlier, XBOX-LIVE + FFXI is gonna equal some awesome online game play. I hate windows and the corporate power of microsoft just as much as the next person but to say they are not deserving of the FF series is a load. Right now the 360 is the best thing out there, beats most computers unless you spend 500+ dollars on a good video card. And the PS3 sorry to say it, isnt going to be so much better than the 360, if you read spec pages the techys list the specs differently, in actuality the two systems are pretty close. The major difference is going to be in the information stored on the disc’s since the PS3 is utilizing blu-ray (which they cant quite figure out still) the information packets alone for the game will have better visuals, but are far as video power its nothing to get too excited about. Hope this helps some people. Was a diehard PS person, still am but gotta admit the xbox with XBOXLIVE and HALO2 and then the 360 with its visual power, if you dont believe me find a friend with oblivion and a high deffinition tv, and you will think twice.

32microsoft doesnt NEED anything form fony, as MS games have won GoTY since 2001. and FF13 and DRAGON QUEST 9 are also coming to 360, along with ALL of fonies(sony) once exclusive titles. wake up fony fanboys, MS is taking all your gold. SNAAP!!!!

(its from you). I think its a good idea for it to go to xbox too. I love final fantasy. Say I only had xbox right? and nothing to do with Sony but I played Ff at a friends house and it was my favorite game and I want it, but hey looky there no playstation now what am i gonna do? see exactly. To tell ya’ll the truth I think they should remake Ff7 for xbox or xbox 360 with awwwwwweeesssssooomeeeeee graphics I would so buy that and like first person view of walking and all that good stuff.

37Look Everyone, You wanna play final fantasy on next gen consoles the deal is that u wn’ have to go out and but the console that it’s on so if you have a 360 u wont have to buy a PS3 to get it, y would u guy’s rather just have it on PS3. oh and if u read right to end eople think that it dosen’t deserve it my answer is y, u act as if it’s being taken off the PS altogether, just stick with the console your on trust me!!!

38A likely reason why Final Fantasy titles are coming to the Xbox 360 is simple. First of all, by giving the titles to Microsoft, a much larger audience is obtained; which also helps support the finances of more Square-Enix productions. The platform does not matter. Both consoles are clearly capable of executing all the functions the games deliver. Second, the online bandwidth potential of Xbox 360 surpasses the PS3. Reason being, Microsoft has taken over the business world and has plenty of money to supply the 360 with these features. Not to mention, Sony has taken all of Microsoft’s ideas for Xbox Live and have placed them on the PS3. The point is, both systems have their pro’s and con’s. They’re both powerhouses and should not be taken lightly. I think the platform Final Fantasy games go to is completely irrelevant. If anyone can prove me wrong, by all means, please correct me if I am mistaken.

and for all u idiots that think the ps3 has better graphics than the 360 ure wrong microsoft makes computer so they know more about how to make the ultimate consule better than sony.

40ok honestly look xbox already has final fantasy 11 on their platform and theyre coming out with another game produced by the people who produce final fantasy called blue dragon…if they are giving them this kind of stuff why wouldnt they say hey we already have this much and were making money lets put it on there and make more….no matter how much the game producers dont want their game on a platform… money talks in a very very persuasive way.

41final fantasy coming to xbox is the best thing ever as the 360 is the greatest console ever made. and ff will probably get more fans coz of this which will lead to more being made
