Here is a blogging system that uses your Gmail account as its backend. It uses “Starred” messages as the posts, and replies to those messages are the comments.
Written in PHP and uses libgmailer to connect to the Gmail account, it also makes use of XML/XSLT and has support for JPG and PNG attachments.
It is released under a GPL license. Check out the demo blog: http://jaws.com.mx/gallina-0.3/gallina/index.xml. It shows the number of invitations that are avaialble and how much space is being used.
Possible uses: a collaborative blog that works on e-mail? I may have to give this a test run.

3Ouch! It looks like you just killed (forevergeeked?) the chicken… (FYI, ‘Gallina’ means chicken in Italian)
But having tried it before, I can tell you this: Gallina works quite well and can be fun, even if you don’t have to wait for full-fledged blog features from it (yet?)

5Chris Locke writes about “Indigo Children,” a meme reported on by the New York Times. The Indigo idea sounds like it pushes a whole bunch of buttons all at once â New Age, angels, the paranormal, child-worship, ADD. If it had some anti-child-porn hysteria about it, it’d be perfect. As one of the people in the NYT article says, this is basically the same social world view as Harry Potter’s muggles v. wizards set up.
Anyway, it is a great example of what Chris has been talking about over at Mystic Bourgeoisie, America’s Toughest to Spell weblog

8Charlene, I am surprised that you did not also mention blogs here both as a way for a professional to market themselves and a way to improve their ranking in the search results. And why not add your blog to your Ziggs profile.
