According to AppleInsider, Apple will possibly release iTunes 4.8 this week. This new version will contain maintenance and security updates, as well as support for the new international music stores.
Another thing that is reported to be in this update is the ability to manage contacts and calendars for the iPod via the iTunes interface, a task that until now has been delegated to Apple iSync.

2it was delegated to isync because isync is where you go to sync contacts , not to sync music, it does make sense to add this functionality to itunes but NOT to remove it from isync
