On the other illegal immigration is a very big hole in our national security.(not the honest workers but other people who are here without any documentation) Not to mention that it seems to lead to some really unsavory workforce abuse. How can you protect someone who you don't know is here and has little or no rights in the US? (I know that no one seems to be asking this, but I am.) I don't want to be tagged as much as the next guy, but on the other hand I have no real proof of my citizenship should I need it. This needs careful thought.
