According to this post at Kotaku, the CPU that will be used in the Sony Playstation 3 is up to three times faster than that used in Microsofts’ XBox360. However, all of the processor power may not be usable by games, so that sort of kills that feature.

The good news is that the GPUs of the boxes are about the same, even thought they come from different manufacturers (ATI and Nvidia).
